Charles W. Denny, IV (Chip) specializes in general civil litigation, with a focus on commercial litigation, insurance defense and coverage, construction litigation, personal injury and medical malpractice litigation and civil trial work. Mr. Denny received his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law in 2000, where he graduated with honors. Mr. Denny was a student teacher in Legal Research and Writing and Appellate Advocacy, and he received a Book Award, finishing first in his class, in Federal Courts. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Mr. Denny's diverse range of clients include private individuals, banks and commercial institutions, insurance companies, construction contractors, small corporations and consumers and electrical utility cooperatives. He has appeared in several trials in county and circuit courts across Florida, including construction and personal injury cases, commercial and medical malpractice disputes and breach of contract actions. He has represented homeowners in construction defect litigation and in property and other disputes against city and county governments. He has handled several wrongful death lawsuits and lawsuits involving catastrophic injuries and substantial property damages on behalf of insurance companies.
Mr. Denny obtained his bachelor's degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, where he graduated with honors in 1990. He also received a M.A. in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder and is a former newspaper reporter and magazine writer and editor. His concise and persuasive professional writing skills make an impressive presentation to the Court when advocating on behalf of clients. Mr. Denny is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, The Florida Bar Association and the American Bar Association. |
