Biography
Mark A. Wilson practices in marital and family law, with a focus on equitable distribution, alimony, parenting plans, timesharing, UCCJEA issues, paternity, child support and prenuptial agreements. Mr. Wilson also practices in the areas of insurance coverage litigation and general civil litigation.
Mr. Wilson graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in December of 1980 and earned a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Iowa College of Law, with distinction, in May 1983.
After law school and admission to the Iowa Bar, Mr. Wilson worked on a one-year appointment as a Judicial Law Clerk for six trial court judges in Judicial District 2A in Mason City, Iowa, performing research and writing in support of judicial opinions. Later, Mr. Wilson was a partner in the litigation law firm, DeVries, Price and Wilson, in Mason City, Iowa. Mr. Wilson litigated workers compensation defense cases on behalf of employers and insurance defense cases, on behalf of insureds and insurance companies, primarily in northern Iowa.
Mr. Wilson is currently admitted in the state courts and federal courts in Iowa and in the state courts in Florida. Mr. Wilson is a member of the Iowa Bar, the Florida Bar, the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Sarasota County Bar Association. Mr. Wilson practices primarily in the areas of marital and family law and general civil litigation.
