Biography
Mr. Tomlinson is trial attorney with over ten years of experience defending complex litigation cases with a primary focus in the areas of automobile negligence, product liability, premises liability, property damage, including subrogation, and construction defect litigation.
Mark was born and raised in Winter Park, Florida, and attended the University of Central Florida, where he majored in Legal Studies, and subsequently worked as a litigation paralegal at a prestigious referral-based personal injury firm in Orlando. While working as a paralegal full-time, Mark returned to school and attended the Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in the evenings, where he graduated in 2013 and was admitted to the Florida Bar.
Following law school, Mr. Tomlinson relocated to Sarasota, Florida, and worked as staff counsel for a prominent national insurance company, and thereafter as a trial attorney for a national defense firm, which specialized in first and third-party property litigation, negligence, and premises liability matters, before joining Dickinson & Gibbons, P.A. in 2019. He has tried multiple cases to verdict, most recently a disputed property damage case in Sarasota County in May 2024, and a breach of contract action in Hillsborough County in August 2024. In 2022 and 2023, Mr. Tomlinson was selected by SRQ Magazine as an “Elite Top Attorney” in the field of Civil Litigation.
Mark is an active member of the Florida Bar, the Sarasota County Bar Association, and the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and is admitted to practice in all Florida courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his son, Zack, playing golf, and watching sports, including his beloved Florida Gators.
